For many years I have been involved in rescue and re homing work with cats and many times I have spoken to someone who can no longer cope with their cats behaviour. What are Bach flower remedies?
In the 1930’s Dr Edward Bach , medical physician and well known researcher and bacteriologist discovered that different emotions and states of mind could be combated and improved with the use of different flower and plant based remedies. Bach identified 38 basic negative states of mind and created a plant or flower remedy that could aid each specific emotion.
Moving to a new home, a stay in the cattery or going off to stud can be a stressful time for a cat, rescue remedy is a blend of five different flower remedies and contains Star of Bethlehem, Cherry Plum, Rock rose, Clematis and Impatiens. This is a handy remedy to keep in stock all the time especially for breeders I always add some to my cats drinking water [mineral water only] before and after birth to soothe and reassure.
Bach flower remedies are made using extracts from plants and flowers and are extremely mild and have no side effects.
As described above there are 38 different flower remedies. You must observe and take as much in to account as possible before deciding which is the right remedy or remedies for your cat.
Sometimes just one remedy might be right for your cat but often a mix of several remedies is the way to go.
You can mix the remedies in a mixing bottle using mineral water and two drops of each required remedy then drop directly on to the tounge of your cat.
